Ana Viktoria Dzinic (now she/her at birth he/him) is a London-based artist and writer, primary occupied with concepts of Image-circulation, Subjectivity Production and Representational Systems. Visually, these concepts are imagined as mechanical fabric paintings, events, or installations using only ready made objects directed by Regieanweisungen (Scripts). Recent Solo Exhibitions include Nicoletti, London (2024), Earth, New York City (2024) Von Der Holden Contemporary, Hamburg (2024), 032C Workshop Berlin (2023) and group exhibitions at Emalin, London (2023), Wilhelmhallen, Berlin (2023) and Saatchi Gallery, London (2021) among others.
During her stay at Echo Correspondence, Ana Vik developed a Regieanweisung (Script) based on her painting and sculptural work-series 'Liberal Trauma Trophy' and 'Conservative Distress Display' both originally exhibited at Emalin last year. The basis of the newly commissioned work is a moving image installation, examining the birth place of psychoanalysis, its relationship to identity politics and economic structure of difference. Grounding the research in Vienna and its historical context of living in the shadow of its past and aim to retell possible lost futures as a from of governance strategy, somewhat a beacon of Paul Kees Angelus Novus and according to the artist a similar exeperince to transgender paranoia.
